We all know the frustration of working with data and sweating that a project won't be ready by a particular deadline, even more frustrating is that most of the problems faced with data integrity issues can be easily avoided.
This area of the site is all about taking the hassle out of working with data so you can work more productively and efficiently. If there's a question you would like answered make sure to leave your comment below.
TIP1 – Cash Back
It is important to allow 8 weeks lead time for the Bank Approval (BA) process for customised cheques.
TIP2 – Cash Back
Expect invalid claims, and prepare a clear, effective and prompt procedure in remedying the invalid claim.
TIP3 – Cash Back
Ensure there is a claim form for the consumer to fill in, do not rely on address details to be filled on the reverse side of the envelope, as this can increase the invalid claims by more than 2%.
TIP4 – Cash Back/Data General
On the claim form make sure all elements of the address are included, do not just rely on Name & Address as headings, by not including the full headings, eg, address, suburb, state & postcode can lead to 1.5%+ in invalid claims or incomplete address details.
TIP5 – Data General
Include the STD as a heading for phone numbers, even though STD’s can be allocated based on the state, there are a few examples which do not conform to this rule, eg suburbs on the borders of VIC and NSW, QLD and NSW etc.
TIP6 – Data General
Ensure enough room is made available for the email address, even if one character of the email address is illegible, then it renders the whole email address as incorrect.
TIP7 – Data General
Avoid using quotes (“). Although, data is easily exported and imported into different software packages, the quotes are often used as data delimiters, and can corrupt the data columns when data is imported. Contemplate using the tilde (~) or pipe (|) as field delimiters
